Sims Honda Soccer Tournament-- Burlington, WA I played Skagit Storm soccer for as long as I can remember with my three bridesmaids: Lauren, Bianca, and Christiane. We would play soccer, rest under the shade while watching the other teams play, or hang out at my family's RV in the parking lot. Rumor had it that a new boys soccer league had entered the scene: La Liga Tonalli. It would be a lie to say that those boys dressed in their Mexico Uniform didn't have some mad skills. Eric was the first to catch my eye- his long spikey hair, white taped red socks; he knew how to play the field. I never considered myself shy, I didn't have a problem talking to anyone- but something about Eric just made me giddy. As I sat near the food concessions at the tournament between games with my girls, I had Bianca go ask for his number. Low and behold, we got the number... the number to his dad's cell phone. I caught his next game, in the pouring Washington rain... sitting on the sideline with no umbrella. I remember to this day, Eric got hurt that game. Taken out in the goal box, carried off the field by the opponent's goal... I also remember finally having the nerve to text that number. After that, the rest was history. We've been together ever since.
For Aiden's 7th Birthday, we decided to head down south to California and make a family trip to Disneyland. I had never been and it was the perfect age for Aiden to experience the magic, the rides, and enjoy the characters. My favorite Disney villian is Maleficient so it's only fitting that my favorite princess be Sleeping Beauty. We had taken our picture in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle during the daylight hours, both up close and from a distance. I'm pretty sure both Eric and Aiden were tried of hearing about the castle! So when I finally piped up about taking another picture in front of it, I'm sure they were about to lose it. We waited in the PhotoPass line after the nightly fireworks to catch the castle lit up in lights. We took a few pictures as a family of three, and then a few as a couple. I started to hear muttering in the crowd "oh my gosh," "ohhh he's going to proposal," and that's when Eric looked at me and asked "Are you ready?" It took me a moment to realize but he was now down on one knee with a beautiful ring staring at me! The crowd around started and saying "Say Yes!" Well, what else was I going say? I SAID YES!!! To the man I had loved for eight years back then! Eric made Sleeping Beauty's castle, my castle!! And.... when I finally saw Sleeping Beauty the next day, you better believe I told her we now share that castle! --Daniee
Our wedding day wouldn't be perfect without the help of our Padrino's and Madrina's. Eric and I cannot thank you enough for the love and support we have received. Please feel free to dress in whichever color you would like.
