Great central place to hike with views of the city. Would suggest doing Cholla Trail and NOT Echo Canyon! Note: this trail is considered strenuous and requires scrambling! Street parking only. Fills up quickly on weekends!

McDowell Mountain Regional Park

Lots of great trails in North Scottsdale. Gateway loop and Sunrise trail are two of my favorites!
