Eric and I met at The National Party of Texas a.k.a The Schulenburg Festival on August 1, 2015. We met each other that night through mutual friends. The attraction to each other was pretty instant, however, I thought I could play hard to get. Thought is the key word. Before the night was over, Eric had danced with me for several songs and he had my phone number saved in his phone. I guess you could say that he danced away with my heart that night.
On April 27th, 2019 Eric asked me to marry him. We were having our annual crawfish boil at my parents house. Eric’s parents came over early to relax and spend time with my family before the boil started. Eric’s dad asked if my parents if they had any fish in the tank behind their house. My dad excitedly told him that he has been seeing some big fish in the tank when he feeds them. My dad then asked if we wanted to walk down to the tank to see these monster fish that he has been seeing. So, we all walk down to tank together. Dad threw out the fish food, and he acted shocked when no fish came up to eat the food. We then began walking along the bank when I heard “hey, what’s that under the trees?”. Then I saw the most romantic set up under the trees where my sister and I spent many days playing under. As Eric held my hand, we walked together to the most perfect proposal site I’ve ever seen. That is when he said some of the sweetest words, got down on one knee, and asked if I would marry him. I followed up by saying “it’s about time”.
