Briana grew up going to and volunteering with her parents at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. That love for aquatic life has not waned since moving up to Chicago. See beluga whales, and the famous rockhopper penguins, who developed quite the social media following!
Navy Pier is a 3,300-foot-long pier on the shores of Lake Michigan with unparalleled attractions and experiences, including the Centennial Wheel which debuted in 2016, in honor of Navy Pier’s 100th anniversary, where you can soar to heights of 200 feet!
Soldier Field is one of the oldest football stadiums still in use in the US, having opened in 1924. They host big concerts and sporting events, and are the home to the Chicago Bears football team. The Bears host the Detroit Lions on October 3. The groom is a Packers fan, so hopes that neither team wins :)
The Sears Tower (sorry, Chicagoans don't call it Willis) is the 3rd tallest building in the United States and is famous for it's Skydeck (https://theskydeck.com/), where you can stand on clear glass above the city!
Millennium Park is a public park located on Michigan Avenue, bordered by Randolph St. to the north, Columbus Dr. to the east and Monroe St. to the south. It hosts numerous outdoor concert and movie events, as well as famous landmarks like the Bean (a.k.a- Cloud Gate).

For those with access to a car, the Chicago Botanic Garden is a beautiful outdoor botanic garden, which Briana and Eric love to visit. Every year, more than one million people visit the Garden's 27 gardens and four natural areas, uniquely situated on 385 acres on and around nine islands, with six miles of lake shoreline
The 1.25-mile long path has been constructed in phases over time and includes four distinct districts; The Confluence, The Arcade, The Civic, and the Esplanade. The Chicago River is a treasured natural amenity in the urban canyon of world famous architecture and the Chicago RiverwaIk allows a close proximity to the waterway. The continuous path from Lake Street to the lake front also allows a vertical connection from Upper Wacker Drive down to the waterway.
The Bloomingdale Trail is a 2.7-mile elevated rail trail running east–west on the northwest side of Chicago (through neighborhoods including Wicker Park, Bucktown, Humboldt Park). It is the longest greenway project of a former rail line in the United States.
Ping Tom Memorial Park is a 17.24-acre public urban park in Chicago's Chinatown neighborhood, in South Side, Chicago with a beautiful pagoda-style pavilion, bamboo gardens, and a playground. Ping Tom Park is meaningful to Eric, because of the many years of dragon boat racing on the river by the park!
While the Cubs have not had the season that fans hoped for, Wrigley Field remains one of America's classic sports venues, the 2nd oldest stadium in the majors. Take a selfie in front of the the iconic marquee, and hang out in Wrigleyville neighborhood that surrounds the "Friendly Confines", and raise a beer to the 2016 World Series champions.
Chicago is home to two baseball teams, and the Southsiders are having quite the amazing season, leading the AL Central, and have a good chance to be playing baseball deep into October
