While you can can certainly bring your car on the ferry, having a car on the island is optional. There are many cab services on the island, along with bike and moped rentals.

Although Block Island is very small, there are multiple lodging options all over the island. These options include hotels, inns, bed & breakfasts, Airbnb rentals, and rental homes. Block Island does not use third party booking sites (Expedia, Travelocity..etc) because of this, all accommodations online will say booked when in actuality there are many rooms available. You must call to inquire about availability and booking.
