FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We ask that all guests arrive to the venue at 1:00 p.m. as the ceremony will start promptly at 1:30 p.m. After the ceremony, there will be time to mingle and chat with the Bride and Groom before they depart for photos. During this time, guests are encouraged to explore Canmore and grab a drink. Please return to the venue at 5:00 p.m. for cocktail hour, followed by the reception.

Question

Do I have to RSVP?

Answer

Yes, please ensure you RSVP using the link on the invitation by June 1, 2026. This includes if you are not able to join us.

Question

Are there accommodations?

Answer

There are a number of accommodations located around Canmore. We have included a list of a few with discounted rates under the 'Travel' tab but feel free to book where ever works best for you. We suggest booking as early as possible.

Question

What's the best form of transportation to and from the venue?

Answer

There is guest parking outside our venue, you are able to park there during the ceremony. While the wedding party is out taking photos we suggest leaving your cars at your hotel and taking a cab back to the venue to enjoy the reception and party. Note: Canmore does not have Uber.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We would love all of our guests to dress up in semi-formal attire for our special day. Men, please wear a suit (ties optional) and long dresses for women. Avoid wearing white or close shades of ivory (except for mens dress shirts). To distinguish yourself from the wedding party, the bridesmaids will be in light blue dresses and the groomsmen in black suits.

Question

What time do the celebrations end?

Answer

Although we wish it didn't have to end, our big day will finish at 2:00 a.m. which is when all guests will be required to leave the venue.

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for, but for those who wish to make a contribution, we are gratefully accepting cash gifts to put towards our honeymoon.

Question

Can guests take photos?

Answer

We will be having an 'unplugged' ceremony, so please keep your phones away for this part of our day. For the reception and party, you are encouraged to take photos!

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Those who are invited will be named on the invitation you have received. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate any additional guests.

Question

Can I be the first on the dance floor?

Answer

We would be disappointed if you weren't!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Complementary drinks will be provided at cocktail hour and throughout the reception via drink tickets provided by the bride and groom. After that, it will be a cash bar, so we encourage all guests to take out cash before arriving to the reception.

Question

Where is the reception and ceremony taking place? Is it indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and reception will be taking place at the same location (The Vista at the Canmore Nordic Centre). The ceremony will be outdoors on the rooftop (weather permitting) and the reception will be indoors. We encourage guests to enjoy Canmore's city centre and grab a drink while the wedding party is taking photos in-between the ceremony and reception before meeting us back at the venue to enjoy dinner!

Question

What is the address for the wedding?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are taking place at The Vista by Cornerstone Weddings. This is located at the Canmore Nordic Centre, 1988 Olympic Way. If you are driving, please park in the furthest parking lot (follow the flags) in front of The Vista building.
