We have made the difficult decision to adjust the original plan for our wedding due to the ongoing pandemic. We cannot, in good conscience, move forward with Plan A. While this decision was not made lightly, it is the best thing to do for the safety of our loved ones and our communities. If you received this announcement, please understand that you will not be receiving an invitation to our wedding and will instead be receiving information about attending a virtual ceremony at a later date.
Please visit the TRAVEL & LODGING section of our website.
If you are renting property for the wedding and need to do some grocery shopping, we highly recommend visiting Food Lion. It is a chain of grocery stores in North Carolina, similar to Buehler's in Ohio. You can find their address under THINGS TO DO. Also under THINGS TO DO, you will find a selection of local restaurants and bars we recommend visiting before you leave!
While children are a blessing, we respectfully ask that no one under the age of 18 attend the ceremony or reception.
There is a public parking lot across the street from the ceremony location. It is a short walk from the parking lot to the beach and there will be signage posted so you know which way to go. If the ceremony is moved inside the reception hall (Topsail Island Assembly Building) due to inclement weather, there is a parking lot.
Unfortunately, no. Surf City approved paid parking in February 2021 to start April 1st, 2021. rates are $3/hour. However, because the beach access and ceremony locations are so close to where most of the guests are staying, there should be no need to worry about paid parking. Paid parking only applies to the beach access parking lots.
In the event of bad weather, the ceremony will be moved inside of the reception hall (Topsail Island Assembly Building). The same will apply if it is too windy, even if the weather is nice.
The dress is semi-formal beach! Remember, this is North Carolina. The average temperature is about 80 degrees as humidity starts to increase, so we recommend you opt for those nice golf shorts or that flowy dress! Wash stations are available for you to wash the sand off your feet following the ceremony.
Please direct any questions the day of the wedding to Tatijana Rodriguez, Alanna's friend and wedding coordinator: 440-222-1334. If Tatijana cannot be be reached, then please contact either Mara Matheson (607-342-5003) or Lauren Fernandez (330-635-3422), the maids of honor.
Please refer to your invitation for addresses regarding the ceremony and reception. We have chosen not to publicly put that information on our website.
