Picture it...Covid 2020! My cousin Lauren was getting married to her husband Graysen. Granted this is Covid times and no one is supposed to be around each other, especially inside, without a mask. Who needed one of those? It was a beautiful wedding on June 13th. Fast forward to the bouquet and garter toss. I was bound and determined to catch the bouquet. There is a photo of me with a great vertical to make sure I was getting my hands on it. I still haven't heard for sure but Eric was selected to catch the garter unbeknownst to him. They put me in a chair and blindfolded Eric to put the garter on my leg. At the last minute, I got up and his best friend Elijah sat down. To Eric's surprise he felt a hairy leg to slide the garter onto. Not thinking anything of it we went our separate ways. Fast forward a couple of months, Lauren and Graysen are holding their annual Lake Day in Seneca. Eric brought this rancid fruit salad that had been marinating in liquor for days. We talked a bit, although I don't think Eric remembers, and once again at the end of the day we went our separate ways. Fast forward another couple of months we had been texting and we finally went on a date on October 4th. It didn't take long to realize we were meant to be together and we made it official on October 17th. Fast forward to around Valentine's of 2023. Eric had every intention of proposing on Valentine's Day. However, me being the dog person I am had other plans. I needed to go to Atlanta to pick up a dog for a breeder to take back to her. Eric was upset because he really wanted to do a Valentine's Day dinner. I said we can just celebrate the day after when I'm back. Of course, the last thing I wanted to do after driving home was go to dinner. However, Eric persisted and he proposed that night with a beautiful story about his mom and pulled out a beautiful ring. How could I say no?! So, now we are here and we are going to get married on the same day he proposed just 2 years later on a beach in Jamaica. We couldn't be happier and can't wait to celebrate with our family and friends.
