To have and to hold...from a safe distance

While vacationing with Eric's family in Alaska, our group planned to go on an 8 mile hike on our second to last day. Abbey spent most of the hike up panicking because of her fear of heights and steep drop offs. Tears were shed. Once we reached the top, Eric sat on a small pile of rocks and asked Abbey to join him. Abbey was sick of climbing but complied. Eric said "here we go..." and pulled out a small dental floss container that safely held the ring throughout the entire trip and hike. More tears were shed. Shortly after we got to share the news with Eric's immediate family and then FaceTimed the rest of our favorite people to share it with them.
