We first met in Seattle on a dating app called Hinge. After some chatting we agreed to meet for a date on Sunday -- only to bump into each other while out with friends that Friday night! Erica worked up the courage to approach David in a bar on Capitol Hill with the audacious introduction: "Hi, I'm Erica, we are going on a date this weekend!"

David and Erica drove to their favorite beach in Los Angeles (Manhattan Beach) for dinner on Saturday evening. David had mentioned to Erica that his boss had given him a gift certificate that was about to expire. We left early so we could walk on the pier and beach together. As we walked under a boardwalk famous for photo ops, we stopped to take a selfie, at which point a young woman interrupted us offering to take our picture. Once she was in position, David got down on one knee and asked Erica to marry him! After collecting herself Erica was surprised to learn that David had hired a photographer to capture the proposal!
