We met freshman year at Penn State at a fraternity party — because nothing says “forever” quite like a crowded basement and loud music. Between football Saturdays, far too many nights at P-Man, and the unlikely pairing of a biomedical engineering major and a fraternity guy, we quickly realized we didn’t want to stop spending time together. After graduation, Erica moved to Arlington, Virginia (and later NYC), while Vasilis was gently but very persistently convinced to take an amazing job opportunity in Denver. This kicked off three years of long distance, frequent-flyer miles, and a lot of “only two more weeks” conversations—proving that if you can survive Arlington, NYC, and Denver time zones, you’re probably doing okay. Eventually, Vasilis made the move to New York City, and for the past three years we’ve been building a life together — exploring new restaurants, traveling whenever we can, and continuing our nightly debate over where to eat. After eight years together, Vasilis completely surprised Erica with a proposal in Porto — proving that patience is a virtue and that he can, in fact, keep a secret. Now, after nine years together, we’re so excited to make it official and celebrate with our favorite people — no fraternity basement required.
