How We Met

12.14.08

The first time Rudis met Erica, He walked into his college house and saw her washing a big ol' pile of dishes. The first thought that came to his mind was, "ooh, who is this girl?". However, once he realized what she was doing, he then remembered that she ruined his plan of forcing his roommates to clean up after themselves. His roommates weren't the cleanest which constantly bothered him and those who know Rudis, know that he is a clean freak. So the first thing he said to her was, "Why you touchin' my stuff? If I wanted my dishes washed, I could have done it myself!"

Our First Kiss

Months after the washing dishes incident, Rudis and Erica started to get to know each other. He would vent to her and visa versa. One night, Rudis texted Erica saying he forgot his orange juice and wanted to come back to get it. He told Erica to meet him in the backyard. Erica walked to the back and climbed a chair to give him the orange juice over the wall. As she reached over to hand it to him, he surprisingly snuck the first kiss. Moments later, Erica texted Anita (Made of Honor) a long text about how nervous and giddy she was and that she thinks she likes him. After hitting send, it was in that moment that she realized that she didn't text Anita, but texted Rudis instead - rookie move. #smh That following week, Erica decided to call Rudis to hang out. Later that night, Rudis asked her "So, you wanna be my girl?" and the rest is history...

The Proposal

11.24.18

After traveling back from Denver, Rudis picked up Erica from the flyaway. She was irritated, tired and in a rush to get home and relax. When she arrived, she walked into her room and saw on her bed rose petals in the shape of a heart, with a bag in the center of it. At this point, she knew something was up. She opened up the letter and began to cry as she read what was written inside. She reached into the bag to find an orange juice bottle with a post-it saying "meet me in the backyard". It was at this moment when she realized Rudis was reenacting the first time they had kissed - ten years ago. She went to the backyard and saw a chair leaning against the wall. She took a deep breath, knowing what was on the other side. She stepped up, looked over the wall and saw the love of her life on one knee. They don't remember exactly what was said in that moment, but she will never forget the look in this eyes. It was perfect.
