How We Met

A Modern Day Love Story

Like many other couples today, we took our search for love to a likely place — the Internet. Sick of the swipe and match apps, we decided to dig into our pockets and pay for eHarmony... and we joined on the very same day. Nick was the first to message and I was intrigued — not by the one line message, but the smirk on his face in his profile picture. From there we exchanged numbers and began texting almost every day. Because it was still Covid times, we had to wait almost six weeks before meeting in person, but passed the time with three FaceTime dates that lasted well past Nick's 9pm teacher bedtime. When we finally did meet on February 26, 2021, it felt like we had known each other forever. It was the last first (well technically fourth) date either of us would have :)

The Proposal

One Italian Summer

In July 2022, we went on a two-week trip to Italy, which was especially exciting because Nick had never been there. The trip started in Florence and was filled with museums, pasta, and gelato — and of course the one brewery in Florence, which Nick managed to find. We made our way down to Naples and then Ischia, where my family is from. On the first night there, we went out to dinner and then back to the villa where we were staying. On our way back up to our apartment, Nick ran ahead and I slowly followed and when I turned a corner he was on one knee and asked me to marry him. I immediately said "yes!" I later found out that he had been walking around with the ring in his pocket for four days, which explained why he was so nervous in Naples!

For all the days along the way
