Announcing the marriage of Eric and Mia on May 02, 2025❤️

What followed were a few weeks of Zoom movie nights and deep conversations about everything from faith and family to mental health and social justice. Eventually, it was time to meet in person. Eric picked the dinner spot - Yassa, a west african gem in North Bronzeville - and Mia chose the show: a drive-in screening of Jordan Peele’s Us in Pilsen. Both were a little nervous, wondering if the sparks would translate off-screen. Spoiler: they did. The vibes were immaculate, and neither wanted to wait long before the next date.

From early on, Mia told Eric that New Orleans was her favorite city and that someday, she wanted him to experience it with her. That wish came true in spring 2024, when they took a dreamy trip to the Big Easy, immersing themselves in the city’s soul through its music, food, art, history, and people. On their last night, with Bourbon Street buzzing all around them, Eric dropped to one knee and popped the question. Mia said yes(!), and they celebrated in true NOLA fashion—with live jazz, good drinks, and a sunset dinner cruise aboard the Steamboat Natchez.
