Pedestrian mall that goes through the center of downtown Denver, from Union Station (our newly redeveloped train station with great restaurants inside) to the state Capitol building. Lots of shops, souvenir places, bars and restaurants. Free tram that goes every 5 minutes up and down the mall. The tram crosses Larimer Street, the oldest street in downtown Denver, also a nice place to walk for more retail and restaurant options.
A must-see for any dinosaur fans!! Their visitors center has a lot of interesting hands on exhibits available. There is also an outdoor trail portion where you can see over 300 dinosaur tracks and where the world's first Triceratops was discovered!
A world famous natural Amphitheater nestled in beautiful red sandstone rocks. There are also trails in the vicinity of the park to explore the picturesque surroundings.
For those looking to get out of Denver and immersed in nature check out this National Park about 1.5 hours away. There are plenty of trails to hike, wildlife and plants to see and the mountain town of Estes Park located near the main entrance.
About 8 miles west of Denver is the old capitol city of Golden, home of the Coors Brewery. Free tours of the brewery are available daily. The downtown area features several shops, restaurants and brewpubs along Washington St. On the north end of the street, you will come to Clear Creek, with a walking and biking trail.
