It was early 2017 when we began talking whilst in Lubbock. We were both in the midst of changing our career paths and finishing up with school. Sadly, almost immediately after we began dating, Matt moved back to Irving and we were forced to do long distance with neither of us knowing how long that would last. Luckily, in just a couple months later, though it seemed like forever, Matt was able to get a job back in Lubbock so we coul be near each other again. It was during the next year in Lubbock that our relationship truly developed into a love that destined for marriage. And to our knowledge, we didn't see any reason that we would need to do long distance again. We got engaged and every thing seemed to be lining up perfectly! But then life happened again, and I found out I'd be moving to Abilene for nursing school and Matt to San Antonio for med school. Of course spending our engagement long distance wasn't what we had planned, but never the less we've made it work and are so excited that our wedding is starting to appear on the horizon! I'll be applying for jobs in San Antonio soon and that's where we'll begin our journey as husband and wife!
Traveling has been a big part of our relationship from the get go, so it was only fitting that decided to tie the know on one of our trips. We took a trip to Disney World, and I found out that Matt had secretly booked a dinner at Cinderella's Castle. After talking with some of my friends, I was sure Matt was gonna pop the question. Dinner was great, there was fireworks in the background, just not the particular firework that I had assumed. Fast forward a couple months, and we were off on another trip. We drove up to Denver for a long weekend while we were still living in Lubbock. The day we arrived Matt told me that he had made reseverations for dinner that night. He took me to the mall to buy a dress that evening. We ate at an upscale seafood & steak house on Larimer Square, an area in downtown Denver with lights strung all across it. Once again I began to hope that maybe this dinner would be the night . We finished up with dinner shortly after, and I started to feel that those suspicions were off target yet again. As we walked down the lit street after dinner, it started to lightly snow around us and Matt took my hands. He dropped to a knee and asked me to spend the rest of our lives together!
