Wedding Party

The Wedding Website of Erica Simpson and Lucas Homburg
Meet our family and friends who have special roles throughout the wedding weekend.

Jillian Jewell Andrade

Matron of Honor

This girl has been Erica's "ride or die" since the day they met. They were introduced by a mutual friend who thought they would make the best of friends, and she was right. Even though Jillian left Erica and moved away to start her gorgeous family, she still drops everything the minute Erica needs her or wants to see her. She is truly one of the best friends a gal can have.

Luke Thompson

Best Man

Luke was one of Lucas's first friends in high school when Lucas first moved to Georgia. After graduation, both of them ended up going to college in Rome and continued to cement their friendship. Fun fact: When Lucas asked Luke to be a groomsman in the wedding, he got down on one knee and proposed. Luke argues that his proposal was better than Erica's. She disagrees. Haha!

Allison Hattaway

Bridesmaid

Allison and Erica have worked together the last few years at Georgia Highlands College. They are both Communication divas, and they run that school. They became fast friends, and Lucas and Erica made it their goal to get Allison, and her husband Richard, out of the house with them more often. Then they all became fast friends. If you tell Allison you're struggling with something, she will immediately help you figure out a way to solve it. She is an amazing friend, and we are honored that she's a part of our special day.

Jose Fortanel

Groomsman

Jose and Lucas met through mutual friends and instantly hit it off. They've remained friends for years even as Jose's career with the Army has taken him all over the world. We are thrilled that Jose is not only able to attend our wedding, but also join the wedding party!

Julie Swartz

Bridesmaid

Erica and Julie met as neighbors, and after Erica left Rome and then decided she wanted to move back, Julie and her husband, Larkin, welcomed Erica into their home with open arms. They let Erica, her cat, and all her belongings stay in their home. A year later when Erica was kicked out of her apartment for having a cat, Maddie the cat moved into their basement. And now, years and years later, it's pretty certain that some of Erica's stuff is still being stored in their basement. In addition to housing Erica and everything she owns, Julie is the most supportive and sweetest human Erica has ever met. She is one of Erica's favorite humans. (And that pic is her with her precious little boy.)

Alex Kowlachuk

Groomsman

Alex is Erica's brother from another mother...and father. These two only children began their relationship as step-siblings. When their parents parted ways, they immediately agreed their relationship wasn't going to end. Years and years later, they still claim each other as brother and sister. Alex is the little brother Erica always wanted, and we are honored to have him as a part of our wedding party.

Chiqui Gentry

Bridesmaid

She started as our neighbor, but quickly became a close friend. Her enthusiasm is contagious. And her support of both of us and all our crazy ideas and endeavors is always fast and loving. Having her across the street and as a part of our wedding party is truly a blessing.

Jereme Gentry

Groomsman

Jereme and his wife, Chiqui, live across the street from Lucas and Erica and were the first neighborhood friends they made. Two days after Lucas and Erica moved in, the Covid quarantine began and Lucas decided to use his time to build a boat. It was at that time that Jereme's multiple daily dog walks would end outside Lucas's garage talking tools, boat-building, and gossiping about the neighbors with Lucas. We are so happy he agreed to be a part of our wedding day.

Larkin Swartz

Officiant

As soon as Larkin heard we were engaged, he made sure to remind us that he was ordained and had officiated another wedding. Haha! And even though we laughed at his suggestion, we loved the idea! We wanted someone we both loved, respected, and someone who wasn't scared of public speaking. :) Larkin was perfect! It also doesn't hurt that his wife, Julie, is a bridesmaid, so it's a family affair! We can't wait to say our "I Do's" with Larkin's guidance and hopefully, sweet words. Thank you for agreeing to be a part of our special day, Larkin!
