Our love of animals and our passion to help them have a better life brought us together. In March of 2013, we were introduced while working for the same animal rescue organization. For the next year, we were around each other more and more, hanging out with coworkers to celebrate birthdays and work anniversaries. In the beginning of 2014, we started spending time together on our own, going hiking and out to dinner. Here we are 4 years later, still hiking, going out for date nights and now planning our lives together!

We were on a cruise with a group of people to celebrate a family friend's 54th wedding anniversary. For the day of their anniversary, we planned a special dinner with everyone at a romantic restaurant on the ship. One of the ship's photographers came around to take some photos and Justin said "Can you take one more?" That should have thrown up a red flag because Justin hates having his picture taken! I turned around and he was down on one knee with a beautiful ring, asking "Will you marry me?" The entire restaurant cheered and congratulated us! It was so special to have family and friends around for this amazing surprise!
