Justin says we met on move-in day of college at UMD. He came to visit his hometown friend, Audrey, who happened to be Erica's random roommate. We would like to say it was "love at first sight" for both of us, but Erica was too busy anxiously unpacking that she immediately forgot Justin's name after they were introduced. For Erica, the actual meeting was when Justin came over to tutor Audrey in Calculus (until she realized she didn't actually need to take calculus). After he left, Erica mentioned casually to Audrey, "He's nice, I like him." A few months later we went on our first date. We didn't know it then, but we had each found our person.

Like true romantics, our first date involved a meal at the north campus diner (each paid separately of course using our respective meal plans), a round of gaming in Justin's dorm using his NES, and navigating how to politely ask the guy from down the hall to please leave so that we could enjoy our date. (Spoiler Alert: After many unsuccessful subtle hints, this "lovely" gentleman even helped Justin walk Erica back to her dorm at the end of the night. Really.)
