We're Getting Married!

What started as a weekend getaway with friends ended with the surprise of a lifetime. It was Friday, December 28th 2018 and we were headed to the wine country of Fredericksburg, TX to meet the rest of our group at the AirBnB. When we arrived that evening, the house was quiet and empty. The calmness that filled the air was almost unusual, especially knowing our friends on a typical Friday night. There was a flicker of light towards the back of the house, so we ventured out to the backyard which was glowing from a cozy bonfire. As I stepped onto the porch and towards the firepit, I began to take in more of my surroundings – candles lit, red rose petals along the gravel path, pictures of Isaiah and I hanging from the leafy vines, the song Kissed By A Rose playing in the background. I turned around to find Isaiah on one knee – I was completely awestruck. When he presented the ring, I think I even asked him if it was for me (lol). I said yes, of course, and practically had to pull him up by his face to kiss him since he was too nervous to stand up. At that moment, there was movement that caught my eye. Our closest friends and family started appearing from the shadows! This was the climax to what was already a dream-come-true. We spent the rest of the evening sipping champagne and tequila, celebrating, laughing (and maybe shedding a happy tear or two) around the fire. It was incredible to hear the hilarious stories from “the planning committee” about how Isaiah had orchestrated this special moment and everyone who helped pull it off (and keep a very big secret for months!). To say that I was feeling loved, immensely, is an understatement.
