It all began with a right swipe. On March 25, 2024 Erica and Evan matched on Bumble, with Erica asking "how's your Monday", (real original I know). After days of chatting we realized we had much in common, and Evan asked Erica on a date. At first he asked to take her on a walk around the Raccoon River, but it rained and our first date was at the Urban Cellar here in Des Moines, Iowa. We ended up chatting for hours, the restaurant closed at 9pm, but we stayed well past 10pm talking. The date ended up going so well, Erica had a surprise for Evan at the end of the night. Earlier that day, Erica's sister told her she should make her date a cinnamon sourdough loaf, so that's exactly what she did. If the date didn't go well, Evan wouldn't get the bread. However, the date was incredible, so Erica gave Evan the loaf of sourdough at the end of the date. That loaf sealed the deal! By the second date, Erica knew she was going to marry Evan. On May 20, 2024, Evan officially asked Erica to be his girlfriend and the year flew by. Because on August 1, 2025, Evan asked Erica to marry him....to which she said "ABSOLUTELY!"
