The train is a lot of fun and great way to see the area. It goes through the mountains from Durango to Silverton, it's a long trip so we highly recommend riding the shuttle back.

Considered the Switzerland of the US, Ouray offers breathtaking views and an old west vibe. We highly suggest driving from Durango to Ouray. You'll go over three of the most incredibly mountain passes in the world on the million dollar highway. It's a drive you will remember for a lifetime.
