Brandon and Erica’s story began long before they ever realized it would. Years later, fate brought them together in an unexpected way—around a picnic table on a big family camping trip to Leo Carrillo. Sitting across from each other with a group of friends playing cards, they still didn’t know this moment would matter. Two years after that, they matched on Tinder (thanks to Brandon’s bold Super Like), but Erica ghosted him after one conversation, convinced he was “too cool.” Luckily, the universe wasn’t done. On that very same annual camping trip a month later, they finally talked—really talked—laughing together around the campfire. Before the trip ended, Brandon asked her to dinner back home, and this time, she said yes. From that first dinner-and-a-movie date, their relationship quickly grew into something strong and steady. Six months later, Brandon received a full-ride football scholarship to Murray State University in Kentucky. Long distance followed, but so did daily texts and phone calls, FaceTimes, and visits that made the miles feel smaller. Eventually, Erica took a leap of faith and moved to Kentucky for a year—one of the best decisions she's ever made. After Brandon graduated in December 2019, they returned to California, only to be met by the pandemic and yet another chapter of change. When Brandon decided to pursue stand-up comedy and podcasting, they packed up and moved to Austin, Texas in June 2021. While Erica tackled two demanding years of ultrasound school and Brandon built his comedy career, they faced some of their hardest seasons—but never stopped supporting, believing in, and choosing each other. On their annual camping trip in 2024—this time falling on their anniversary—Brandon surprised her in the most unexpected way. What she thought was filming a job opportunity on a cliff overlooking the ocean turned into a proposal she never saw coming. After more than eight years together, Brandon and Erica continue to choose each other every day, finding joy in laughter, adventure, and unwavering partnership.
