Our Story
HOW WE MET
We met at a racetrack on a whim in 2018... the classic 31st Lap at Orange County Fair Speedway in New York. Ryan had been racing his car per usual, but Erica had randomly chosen to attend this New York race with a friend -- which was very unusual for her to skip her dad’s race elsewhere! Ryan noticed Erica and her friend getting drinks at the bar. Nervous about how to handle the situation, Ryan made his sister initiate the conversation. Ryan later approached Erica, inquiring about her last name, to which Erica cheekily responded, “Actually, my name is Erica.” After this encounter (which sums us up entirely), we reportedly hit it off quite well that night. Erica woke up the next morning to a Facebook message from a guy she had spontaneously friend requested a few months prior -- who unbeknownst to her, was the same guy she had met last night -- Ryan!
HOW WE PROGRESSED
We soon realized that we shared many commonalties, including attending college only 10 minutes away from each other. Though we met after college, we had frequented many of the same spots and shared overlapping acquaintances. However, we did not immediately begin dating. We spoke for months and made numerous plans, bonding over our shared background in racing. After a while, Ryan dropped the “L” word without addressing the relationship. Two months later, Erica finally inquired via text if they were “together,” to which Ryan responded, “Yes of course we are!” To this day, Ryan has never asked Erica to be his girlfriend lol. But 5 years later in January 2023, he did ask her to be his fiancé at an Airbnb during a dream vacation to Maui. And now here we are, soon to be married another 3 years later. We’ve never been fast movers or deep talkers, yet we have always been in sync. It’s finally time to make it official -- and we hope you are ready to celebrate with us :D
