Let the adventure begin!

We are so excited to invite you to celebrate with us. If you are here, we consider you an important person in our life and would love to have you with us when we get married in Cartagena. With that being said, we know we are asking a lot and pushing some outside of their travel comfort zones. If you know us, it is what we do best :) We want to start by saying that you should feel absolutely no obligation to come or get a gift in lieu. We wanted to invite everyone we love in hopes that some will be able to turn this into the vacation of their dreams too. So please, please, make this what you need it to be and if we can't celebrate in person on the big day, we will find another time to share hugs, laughs and love! Both of us love to travel, something we bonded over early on. We value the chance to take a risk and explore. Early in our relationship we impulsively booked a trip to Colombia (more impulsively for Erica followed by annoying persuasion that was considered deliberately by Jeff). We backpacked from Bogotá to Santa Marta and on to Cartagena. Craving a beach getaway, we found our way to Playa Blanca for the last three days of our trip. It was three days of crystal blue and teal water, hammocks out over the water, fresh fried fish on the beach and almost deserted quiet nights listening to the waves. We fell in love there and want to share it with you. We weren't sure whether a wedding was for us. We value time with friends and family. We are less concerned with the ceremonial traditions themselves so throw the typical norms and expectations out of the way. We just want a big party with the people we love so why not do it in a place we love. Think of this more of a vacation than a wedding- you probably need a vacation and everyone needs a reason to jump in and explore a new place. Believe it or not, this may actually be less expensive than a weekend in New Orleans so check out the travel page and advice before making your decision. We encourage guests to make this into their own vacation, to extend their stay, hop to other incredible places in Colombia and bring the family and friends they want to enjoy time with.
