This is the park where we first met and where Nick proposed to Erica on 11/19/17. Though we will be getting married right along the park on Sunday afternoon, there are lots of fun daytime activities for all ages! It is well worth checking out in play clothes before you get all dressed up for the party!
Findlay Market is a Cincinnati classic! Dozens of local entrepreneurs set up shop every weekend and have some of the best goods Cincinnati has to offer. We particularly like the breakfast sammy at Em's Sourdough, the noodles at Pho Lang Thang, and the bar-b-que at Eli's. Maverick Chocolates and Churchill's Tea are also regular stops for us!
We are fortunate enough to have one of the best zoos in the country! We highly recommend that you check it out if you get a chance!
If you would like to take a look at the Queen City Skyline, head across the river to Newport On the Levee. There you'll find shops, restaurants, a movie theater and the Newport Aquarium.
If you want to check out the banks of the Ohio River, as well as the prototype bridge for the Brooklyn Bridge, Smale is a great park to visit. It winds along the river with fun parks and activities along the way.
The Museum Center has something for everyone! There are cultural exhibits and an awesome children's museum that can easily fill a couple of hours. On a rainy day they have an Omnimax Theater with rotating documentaries.
Best Ice Cream Ever.....Oprah even says so!
There are lots of Skyline locations around town, but if you want to visit THE original, Ludlow is the place to go! It is located in the Clifton Gaslight District near Nick's alma mater, the University of Cincinnati.
This is our favorite date night restaurant. We try a new dish here every time we visit and they have never disappointed us! We highly recommend the curated charcuterie boards!
This is the best fried chicken and mac and cheese we've ever had, and we've tried to find better!
Nick won Erica over early in their relationship by introducing her to Abigail Street. The tapas are delicious and you can finish dinner off with authentic Turkish coffee and dessert!
Cincinnati has a rich brewing history that is still going strong today. Downtown you'll find Rhinegeist brewery (and rooftop bar), Taft's Ale House (great smoked wings!), Moerlein Lager House, and Three Points Urban Brewery. Just a short trip out of the city you'll find Braxton Brewing Company, MadTree Brewery, Listermann Brewing Company, Streetside Brewery, and Urban Artifact (wild yeast anyone?). These are some of our favorites, but there are TONS more to explore if you are feeling adventurous!
If you're looking for some nightlife downtown check out Over the Rhine, lovingly known as OTR. Our favorite spots for excellent cocktails are Japps on Main Street, Sundry and Vice on 13th street and Goodfellas (yes it is a pizza place, but they have lots of Bourbon on the 2nd floor!). If you are looking for music, check out Main Street. For live music check out MOTR Pub (Nick lived across the street when we met, we spent many a night here!), Woodward Theater, and The Drinkery. If you're in the mood to dance you'll find plenty of bars with DJs and classic dance music sprinkled along Main Street like Mr. Pitiful's and Tree House.
The Cincinnati Bell Connector runs a loop through the heart of downtown connecting the Banks by the river to Over The Rhine uptown. You can get a full day pass for $2 and a two hour pass for $1. Most of the downtown Things to Do are on or near the streetcar. Some notable stops along the route are Findlay Market, Rhinegeist Brewery, and Washington Park, including our venue, The Transept!
Krohn is a hidden gem in Eden Park 5 minutes from downtown Cincinnati. The Conservatory is a great daytime activity for plant lovers of all ages!
