Maid of Honor
We are sisters and have gone through my entire life together. Even though we butt heads a ton, there is no one else I can picture up there right next to me (besides Eric!), and not just because she'll make sure I'm there on time. Yes, I raided her closet in our teenage years and got in trouble for it. Yes, I totally tried on her lipstick and then wiped it off when she tried to tattle on me to Mom (and I got away with it!). I'm the younger, bratty sister, but we love each other. She is my smart, older sister who can navigate the Boston subway system with ease so I just have to follow along. The older sister who kept me on her AAA even though she didn't have to (although she told me this is my last year). She's the person I always know I can rely on. Thank you and love you!
Bridesmaid
Other Katie has been in my life for soooo many years! She's been my sister's best friend/roommate/partner-in-crime. She's been a part of my life for so long that she is my sister as well, we just didn't have to go through the awkward teenage years together. She's the peacemaker that we've always needed, the one who can put up with me for long periods of craziness, and who can put me in my place when necessary. Like when I was locked in a bathroom in Italy and was angry/frustrated/scared and rude when she was trying to help me get out, so she just walked away and left me to figure it out on my own. Sometimes I need the tough love. She also brings out the playful side of me and I know she's always down for an adventure. Thanks for helping me along the way on this new adventure!
Bridesmaid
Betsy is my cousin, I've watched her grow up and become a responsible adult (who would have thought?). I got to be there for her wedding in Quonnie, RI last year right before I met Eric. I think seeing the love she and Kevin have for each other that weekend made me open up more to Eric than I would have normally, and for that I am grateful. Betsy lived with me after my mom passed and helped me get through some tough times and start enjoying family traditions again. Picking out and decorating a Christmas tree with her and her brother Wyatt was a fun night that I have such fond memories of!
Best Man
Eric and his dad have a close relationship that I am so blessed to be welcomed into. One of the first things that impressed me about Eric was how close he is to his family and how much time he spends with his dad. I love that we go walking/to the gym a couple times a week with him and almost every weekend we go to Denny's to have breakfast with him, just because. I love his sense of humor and the teasing because I get to give it right back. And if there ever is a blackout I know I can count on his glow-in-the-dark legs to provide a light :)
