During the summer going into senior year of college, I visited a friend in Raleigh, NC. Wanting to go out and meet people, we were told about a group of boys our age that lived there. These boys were a friend of a friend of a friend of a childhood friend, to put it simply. We walked into their college house, that Eric just so happened to live in. Eric & I approached each other almost instantly and that’s really all it took. We spend the rest of the weekend in North Carolina together getting to know each other and denying we’d ever see each other again. When I got back home to Nebraska, the long distance calls started happening more frequently, and soon enough we were flying to see each other pretty regularly. And as they say, the rest is history!

My cousin, Bailey, had recently moved to Savannah and wanting to go visit her, Eric and I decided to go in March. We had dinner plans the first night and Bailey had a late work meeting come up (Yes, she really did and didn’t make it up). We were walking through Forsyth Park on the way to dinner when he stopped and got down on one knee. He then surprised me with both of our families being right around the corner! We all celebrated and it was the greatest weekend.

Eric will graduate medical school the week before our wedding. Not too soon before that, we will find out where we’ll be during his residency. We are so excited to have our closest friends and family celebrate our marriage with us before we embark on this next part of our lives 🤍
