Adam Quinn

David's Man of Honor

Hello Everyone, my name is Adam Quinn. I first met Dave during the early fall of 2005. I was the new kid in school and the classmates I met assured me that I had a lot in common with Dave. They said once we met we would be instant friends and they were right. When Dave returned from Calumet, I knew I had my chance to make a lasting impression. I approached him with an envelope that I wrote “Challenge” in Japanese on and sealed with melted candle-wax. Inside was a time and place to meet at a Dance Dance Revolution machine. Dave and I danced, and I was victorious! Fortunately, our goofball nature only grew from there - staying up late talking about shows, movies and time zones while playing a plethora of games at varying locations around America. However, that EDM fueled dance was one of the few games I ever bested Dave in. Dave has contagious smile and warm personality, even when he’s crushing me in games, he’s always laughing and cheerful. Dave has been a great friend over these 17 years. I’m happy that he found such an amazing partner to journey and game with. So excited to celebrate their love.

Eric's Groomsman

I've been fortunate enough to have known Eric for almost 20 years now. I can't really remember what brought us together in high school, aside from being in the same shop in a tech school, but whatever it was, I'm glad it did. Maybe he needed a little bad influence, and I needed a little good influence, so the universe pushed us to one another to achieve some kind of cosmic balance, or maybe to keep Eric from becoming too powerful... Eric is one of the sweetest, most caring, and empathetic people I have ever come across, and I am so lucky to have the privilege of calling him such a close and dear friend. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a friend that feels more like a brother, or what I would imagine having a brother would be like. Eric has been there for me countless times over the years, always with open arms and ears, through all kinds of mischief, adventures, good and not-so-good times. The world needs more Erics. It makes sense that Dave and Eric would've found each other, as I would nominate Dave as the second sweetest person I've ever met, or maybe they're tied for first, I dunno. I'm so happy for them, and honored they asked me to write this, and honored to be their friend.

David's Best Matron

Dave and I met at Calumet where we were counselors in Unit 1. We bonded over our mutual love of board games and spent countless hours playing Risk. Excited to be celebrating Dave and Eric, and to see them more often now they're back on the East Coast!

Eric's Groomsman

Being his brother, there has never been a time when Eric has not been in my life. We did most everything together from a young age and I know he will always be a reliable and caring friend and brother, no matter the distance or time that passes. Much of the excitement and imagination when we shared when we were younger can still be seen when we are around each other now. I value that sense of free expression when I am around him and he helps bring out the best in me. Eric is one of the most empathetic and fun people to be around. He has a natural magnetism that people gravitate towards and can fill you with a sense of optimism because he never stops dreaming. Who can’t use more of that in their lives? Eric and Dave play off each other in many positive ways. I can see in their love, patience and mutual deep understanding that they have many years of happiness ahead!
