Question

I'm not Catholic. Can I still attend the ceremony?

Answer

Of course! The ceremony is open to people of all faiths and denominations! We will also provide programs with all the songs and words so you can read along :)

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Maybe, but it's not necessary! There are many other alternatives if you are staying within downtown Seattle. The Link Light Rail runs to and from SeaTac Int'l Airport every 10-15 minutes, and a trip to downtown Seattle from the airport will cost you $3.25 and 45 minutes. Uber and Lyft are popular ways to get around as well. Just take note that Lyft does NOT have a designated pick-up area at SeaTac, so be sure to use Uber if you choose to use any car services. The drive from the airport shouldn't take more than 30 minutes, but be sure to give yourself a good hour if you plan on driving during rush hour. Traffic in Seattle is no joke! Also note that parking is not always free or easy to find in downtown Seattle.

Question

Are our kids invited?

Answer

Yes! We will also have a separate "time-out" room at our reception if your kid needs to chill out, or you need to feed your baby and/or pump. We don't have any plans to hire any nannies or babysitters.

Question

I have a food allergy/dietary restrictions. What should I do?

Answer

Let us know! You will have an opportunity to fill out your allergies in the RSVP card when the invitations go out; you can also reach out to us individually if there is a big concern. The catering staff at The Rainier Club will make sure that all dietary restrictions will be taken note of, and alternatives will be available.

Question

What do I wear?

Answer

The official dress code is "black tie optional", which means if you have a tux or any other formal gear (kilts, dress uniforms), you are encouraged (but not required!) to wear it. Ladies, that means anything from cocktail dresses to gowns, but don't feel like you have to buy anything new. Just note that the ceremony will be at a place of worship, so please be respectful and refrain from anything too revealing or risqué. Exposed shoulders are fine! In terms of weather, Seattle can be pretty temperamental. Late August is usually pretty warm, and can be anywhere up to the 80s or 90s, but the evenings get pretty chilly.
