There will be Halloween at Greenfield village at this time which is fun for everyone of all ages. Recommend buying tickets before hand if you do the Halloween event. Even if you don't like museums, Rachel says this museum is "f'ing awesome"! This museum is one of a kind and located here in Michigan. It features Edison's House, the Rosa Parks Bus, the original 13th Amendment, the first ever Model T, the Kennedy Car, the Wright Brothers design studio, and so much more!!!
This is the closest cider to our venue and it is family owned!
We haven't been to it but it looks so cute and it also has a brewery and cidery!!!
Is it fall time in Michigan if you don't go to a cider mill? This is our favorite Cider Mill!! You can pick pumpkins, get warm cider mill doughnuts, and sit by the outdoor fire pits!
When you are in Michigan in October, you have to go for a hayride and pick fresh sweet apples at Blakes Cider Mill in our hometown of South Lyon, Michigan!!
Visiting downtown Ann Arbor on a crisp fall day has so much to offer from a University of Michigan Football Game and tour to a hot cup of coffee at a local bookstore, there is something for anyone in one of our favorite college towns! Check out the Ann Arbor Hands On museum!! It’s one of our favorites. Not too far away from Rives Junction area too!
Downtown Jackson is just minutes away from the hotels and our wedding venue!! It offers so many new things to do from local shops, breweries, a revamped social district, and restaurants to beautiful fountains and museums. Check out the Cascade Falls. Michigan Football will be playing Illinois at Illinois on October 19th and the Detroit Lions will be playing Minnesota at Minnesota on our wedding day at 1:00pm; and there’s plenty of local watering-holes in Jackson and Ann Arbor to enjoy the games. Michigan State Football will be playing Iowa in East Lansing, MI on Saturday October 19th.
Downtown Plymouth is a go-to for Matt and Rachel every weekend! It features amazing local cuisine, a beautiful central park, old theaters, books stores, local shops, and that "Gilmore Girls" small-town feel you all are pinning for. They will have their "Scarecrows in the Park" going on where local businesses decorate scarecrows and display them around the park. It's so cute to walk around and look at them. On October 20th, they will also have "Pumpkin Palooza" from 11:30am-2:30pm. They also might still have their farmers market going on which take place every Saturday from 7:30am-12:30pm.
Making a whole trip out of your time in Michigan? Go to our favorite some-what “up-north” city. There so much to do in this town and the fall colors will be beautiful! Who doesn’t love a good winery hop too?
Held at Eastern Market. You should by tickets in advance and they are $60/person
Dane Cook will be here 10/19/24!
