What about the Corona?

The 'Rona can seriously just go away! We hope that the world will be (for the most part) back to normal by August 2022, but it is a good idea to make sure everything you book is refundable/changeable, booked with a credit card and that you have travel insurance to cover for Covid-related issues :-) PS At this stage, you will need proof of Covid vaccination, a booked rapid antigen test for arrival and travel insurance to cover Covid!

How do I get to Outrigger?

Answer

It is a 1.5hr drive from Nadi airport and, whilst you can book any transfers you can find, you can also book them directly with the hotel - reservations@outriggerfiji.com.fj. The price is $155 FJD (each way) for a car (max 4 people) or $275 FJD (each way) for a mini van (max 8 people). $10 FJD (each way) extra for a baby seat.

What is the cost of each type of accommodation at Outrigger and how can I book?

These are the rooms available (and the hotel's prices if booking direct per 1) below): - Resort View (King = $387 FJD + 14% tax per night or Twins = $419 FJD + tax) - Ocean View (King = $468 FJD + 14% tax per night or Twins = $500 FJD + tax) - One Bedroom Suite These are the Bures available: - Plantation Bure ($666 FJD + 14% tax per night) - Plantation Family Bure - Ocean View Bure ($765 FJD + 14% tax per night) - Beachfront Bure ($981 FJD + 14% tax per night) Please note that cribs are available upon request. You can book a few different ways: 1) directly with the hotel - reservations@outriggerfiji.com.fj (however, at the time I was given the prices above, they did not seem to be the cheapest and I was not given prices for all of the different room types) 2) through the hotel's website - https://www.outrigger.com/hotels-resorts/fiji/viti-levu/outrigger-fiji-beach-resort 3) via booking.com (or any equivalent). We booked through booking.com but prices may have gone up since then.

What is the Talai Butler Service?

Outrigger offers guests this service which is a traditional five star butler service with a South Pacific twist. It includes complimentary welcome drinks, and champagne and canapes delivered every afternoon to your room. Make sure you check if your room/suite/bure has it! For suites/bures you also get: - VIP check in - high speed wifi - Nespresso machine - high tea once per stay - washing once per stay

We think so! Unless otherwise stated, of course. *Please be super careful though as we don't want anyone to get sick!*

Are there shops, etc nearby?

Answer

It looks like there are some other cafes, restaurants and bars nearby Outrigger along the coast! The nearest supermarkets look to be 5-10 minute drives away (or long walks) if anyone needs supplies. There may be buses into Sigatoka town.

Can I bring my child?

Of course! There are many activities at Outrigger for the little ones and nanny services if you want a little break during the holiday, hehe. In terms of the festivities, feel free but, as below, there are nanny services at the hotel if you wish to party hard ;-)

Can I take photographs at the festivities?

Answer

We ask you to please put your phones/cameras away for any formalities (there will not be many!) so we can really enjoy ourselves. Otherwise, we encourage as many photos/videos as you like! Make sure you follow and use our hashtag: #melganfijiparty on Instagram for all photos of the party/holiday :-) One housekeeping point for the festivities - pretty please no posting photos/videos of the couple on social media until they do :-)

What is the weather, etc in Fiji like in August?

We (wisely) decided to hold off until dry season. It will be tropical autumm, between 19-27 degrees celsius with moderate humidity, coolness at night - sounds perfect, right? :-) Sunrise at 6am and gorgeous sunset at 6pm.
