We’re getting married!

The first time we met is during a Georgia State University meet-up event in China. All other people backed out at the last minute. So the group meet-up became a two-people ‘date’… We have become each other’s best friend since then. I’d never imagined we would walk down the aisle together as married couple one day. But we both feel so fortunate now to be married to our best friend, soul mate and true love.

On a regular Monday morning in July 2018, he texted me that he got a really good deal for a weekend trip to Panama City. I was desperate for a relaxing vacation so I immediately signed up. Five days later, while we were walking on a white sand beach before the dawn, he led me to the ‘secret’ spot the he had a photographer set up in advance… Frozen on my feet, I watched him kneed down, pulled out the ring, and popped the question. My mind went completely blank at that moment and I didn’t hear a single word of his speech (I had to ask him to say it again afterward…). The few seconds before I said ‘yes’ felt like thousand years passed by. Who would have thought the accidental ‘date’ would lead to a marriage? :)
