Sierra and I first met when we were in the ETBU marching band and were placed next to each other on a set of the marching show back in the fall of 2019. We started talking a lot during those practices and found out that we were in the same major in college! That sparked our friendship at the time and we started to hang out and study a lot together. On January 25th, 2020, we decided to go out ourselves to have a casual movie night in Longview and discussed how we had truly felt about each other and decided that we wanted to start a relationship together. We called each other every night and started to understand each other. When we hit the spring break of 2020, Sierra went on a mission trip to Brazil. I was messaging her every night about how she was doing until I received word about how COVID was shutting down the world and that there was a possibility that Sierra would be stuck in Brazil due to the airports shutting down. I was panicking and called her so many times while she was awaiting news on how her group would get back to the U.S. safely. Thankfully she was able to get to the last flight back to the U.S. and we were able to meet up again and have a date even though the entire world was shut down. Thinking about that situation tested our very young and thriving relationship, and it made us realize that we have trusted and put our faith in God to guide us to be the type of people that He would like for us to be. The type of trust and how we encouraged each other when the other was not in the right mindset is what made us fall in love with each other and what encouraged me to propose to Sierra. I proposed to Sierra on our 4-year anniversary on January 25th, 2024 and we are very excited to host you all on January 25th, 2025 (Our 5-year anniversary of being together) for our wedding!
