It was a summer night in July 2020, and Eddie was hanging out in his best friend’s backyard, thinking it would be just another evening filled with laughs, drinks, and good company nothing out of the ordinary for a 19-year-old enjoying the summer. Meanwhile, Natalia had just finished a long day at work and was headed to her best friend’s house for some wine and DIY manicures (it was peak lockdown, after all). But then came a plot twist. Her best friend, now her maid of honor, had just met a group of guys and pitched the idea of going to hang out with them. “It’ll be fun,” she promised. “Something different!” but Natalia was not convinced. She had never been in Middle Village, let alone planned on spending her night there. But after some persistent convincing and classic best friend guilt-tripping, she reluctantly agreed. The moment they arrived, Natalia noticed Eddie right away standing by the bar with curly hair, tattoos, and the kind of smile that made him hard to miss. So naturally, she turned to her friends and called dibs. Eddie, meanwhile was playing it cool, snuck a few glances her way and struck up conversation with her friends first. Eventually, he made his way over, under the casual excuse of wanting to show her something on his phone. He also showed off his cool, although underdeveloped, DJ skills. He gave her a full rundown of the set up, completely unfazed by the fact that she couldn’t really hear a word over the music or that she wasn’t particularly focused on the playlist. She was mostly just interested in the cute boy standing in front of her. From there, the conversation started and never really stopped. They spent the entire night talking about life, family, and all the random things people talk about when they’re falling into something they don’t quite realize is the beginning of everything. Two days later, Eddie asked Natalia out on a proper date and they've been stuck to each other like glue ever since.
