Karlo & Enjel: A Love 11 Years in the Making

April 11, 2026 – Celebrating 11 Years of Love

Enjel had been Karlo’s long-time crush, and their paths first crossed during a summer job at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Cebu back in 2009. Enjel was a young teenager then, full of light, while Karlo, in his twenties, saw in her a warmth that stayed with him long after that summer ended. Though life moved them in different directions, Karlo carried her memory with him. He followed her posts on Facebook, leaving small reactions that Enjel never knew were chapters of a love he guarded from afar. Then destiny stepped in. In 2014, their worlds converged once more, and this time, Karlo bravely expressed the feelings he had kept for years. Their communication flowed naturally, softly, beautifully—turning into months of late-night conversations, inside jokes, and growing affection. They called each other “Yellow Corn” (Karlo) and “Blonde” (Enjel), playful nicknames that made even ordinary days feel magical. Their courtship lasted almost six months, and during that time, Karlo knew—without a doubt—that Enjel was the woman he wanted to spend forever with. On April 5, 2015, they finally became one, calling each other “Yobo,” a Korean-inspired endearment, and later “Myloves,” words that wrapped warmth around their hearts. After about six months of officially being a couple, he pulled out and secured a ring, promising her that one day, she would be his wife. Their love was beautiful, but it was also tested. In 2017, they were supposed to marry, but the heartbreaking loss of Karlo’s father forced the wedding to be canceled. Still, they held onto each other. Then came 2020, another planned wedding that never came to be when the world stood still during the pandemic. Yet again, they chose patience, strength, and love over circumstance. But love always finds its moment. On November 11, 2024, while Enjel was celebrating her birthday with her family in Boracay, Karlo carried with him another symbol of promise—this time, a golden ring crowned with a diamond and surrounded by smaller ones that sparkled like the years they had endured together. With the sea breeze around them and the soft glow of sunset embracing the shore, Karlo fell to one knee. For the nth time, he asked for Enjel’s “Yes,” his heart praying and hoping that this time, the dreams they had held onto for so long would finally be sealed with blessings from above. It was a proposal wrapped not just in romance, but in faith, forgiveness, and the unwavering belief that their time had finally come. Both born in November, the 11th month, the number 11 has always followed them like a quiet blessing. And now, after a beautiful decade and a year of love, growth, patience, and unwavering devotion, that number finds its greatest meaning. On April 11, 2026, Karlo and Enjel will finally, officially, joyfully tie the knot—fulfilling the promise made long ago, in the early months of their relationship, when Karlo first held a ring meant only for her. Their journey—tested, strengthened, and guided by fate—leads them to this sacred moment. A celebration not just of a wedding, but of a love story 11 years in the making. A love that waited. A love that endured. A love that was always meant to be.
