I was walking to my next period at Hillside Middle School with some friends. We were joking in the hallway, talking about who knows what, when she passed me. She was a very beautiful girl with amazing, beautiful red hair. She was with her friends, also talking about who knows what. She had a GPS NH Soccer jacket on. Being a soccer person myself, my interest was piqued. I had no idea who she was—I just knew she was absolutely beautiful. In typical middle school fashion, I had no courage to ask her name or even approach her. Our story halted there for the time being—I had no idea my dreams would eventually come true and that she would be my wife one day. -Jacob It was another lunch period at Central High School, a day when the weather was too beautiful to stay inside. It was the start of the school year, and the homecoming dance was quickly approaching. I was with a group of friends when the boy whom they all had a crush on suddenly walked up to me. I tried to stay calm, certain he was going to talk to one of them. Instead, he turned, faced me, and asked me to the dance. In my shock, I immediately said yes, even though I knew my friends had spent weeks gushing about how handsome he was and how much he looked like Shark Boy from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. At the time, I had no idea that this quick encounter would lead to countless conversations and so many belly laughs my face would hurt. It was then that I knew Jacob would become not only my best friend, but my everything. -English Then came the rest of high school, and their relationship grew stronger. Jacob found his courage and asked English to be his girlfriend. Their relationship blossomed, and they both knew they had found something in the other, something that would never be found in anyone else. Their relationship was not without struggles, testing how much one cared for the other. Through those four years, English and Jacob stayed by each other's side and entered college, knowing that the unknown was possible, as long as they had one another. Classes, studying, college soccer games, practice, travel, the years schools were shut down, or when visitation was heavily monitored at Saint Anselm College—English and Jacob still found a way to be by each other's side, encouraging and motivating one another to be the best version of themselves. Their academics flourished within those four years, and they both graduated, again knowing that anything was possible, as long as they had each other. They both entered education after college together, with the knowledge that they were not only bettering themselves, but doing it for the other, to create a life that would blossom, together. Now, we are sitting here, writing our story for our wedding, almost ten years into our relationship. A boy and girl from Manchester, with unwavering commitment to each other. This is a story that cannot be defined in words. The care and commitment we have for each other cannot be contained into this short story. These sentiments will be shared together through a lifetime, entering into the unknown, knowing that anything is possible, as long as we have each other.
