Matthew and Lauren met junior year of high school. He played football, she was a cheerleader (so cliché), but outside of games they barely crossed paths. That all changed when Matthew reached out to Lauren about an upcoming football fundraiser, sparking an immediate connection. One conversation led to homework dates, which led to leaving notes on each other's cars, and eventually any excuse just to be around each other. College pulled them to opposite ends of California, from San Francisco to San Diego, eight hours apart. The drives were long. The flights were worth it. The day Lauren walked across her graduation stage, they signed a lease together. Same city, finally, just like they'd always planned. A few months later, Matthew surprised Lauren with a golden retriever puppy named Daisy, something Lauren had mentioned wanting on their very first date. He'd been holding onto that detail for years. They bought their first home so Daisy could have a yard to play in. On their eighth anniversary in Hawaii, Matthew proposed. After growing together these past nine years, they're ready for the next chapter and couldn't think of a better group of people to celebrate it with.
