By this time, Mattie had already told her family all about Chris. They all knew he was coming over to hang out for a New Year's Eve party, and planned on embarrassing Mattie anyway they could. Long story short, Mattie's dad Matt opened her bedroom window from the outside and screamed into her room full of friends, "Oh my gosh!!!!! Is this Chris?". Chris was definitely creeped out, but not as much as when Mattie's mom's Golden Retriever got so excited to meet the new guest that he jumped up on Chris and almost peed on him out of excitement, then proceeded to take a bite of Domino's pizza out of his hand (Chris was embarrassed to grab a new slice, so he technically shared a meal with Beau before Mattie). For some reason Chris stuck it out and now here we are!

Chris started inviting Mattie to his house for dinner with his mom as well as his sister and her family. Mattie does not like Lasagna and never has. But after her 1st dinner with Chris' family was Lasagna, she told Chris that she is not a fan of Lasagna. Somewhere along the way, Joann was never relayed this message from Chris, so the next 2 dinners at her house were also (take a guess) Lasagna. Mattie finally after about 3 years of being together got to come clean to Joann on her own after finding out that Chris never relayed the message. Moral of the story: Thank God for Garlic Bread and Salad!
