When you think about your best friend, you always think about the person you can tell anything to without them judging you. Michael and I met on a dating app while I was in my final year of college. Michael was working near West Chester (my neck of the woods). We never even truly met. We talked online for almost three years, before we ended up meeting when Michael came home to be with him mom. Throughout the three years of communicating, we had other relationships, and there were months we didn't even talk. But we always knew the other would respond if we needed an ear or a friend. That's how this all started.
Winter was coming. It was still ok outside, but we finally made plans to meet. It happened to just be as friends, but then Michael said he wanted to take me out. Somewhere close to my house where we could just say "hi". After thinking a while, I decided bowling would be a perfect place to sit and talk and have some fun. It was a perfect day. It went so well; I didn't want the date to end. We finished our bowling, grabbed a snack and after talking a while, we went and tossed the football in the parking lot until it got dark. We said our goodbye's and that hopefully we would see each other soon. And the end is history.
After dating for almost a year, Kim wanted a change of career status. She wanted to become a Kindergarten teacher. After looking for several weeks, she heard back and got an interview in a city closer to Michael. They offered Kim the position on the spot. She spent the rest of the weekend talking with Michael and seeing how things would be and looking for an apartment Kim could rent. Things were happening. Kim accepted the kindergarten job, and she packed her things and moved to Bensalem, Pa. After a month of living in Bensalem, Kim and Michael talked about moving in together. Michael packed his things, and moved in.
Things were going great in our relationship. But something was missing in Kim's life that she always wanted. A dog. She went looking on her free time with a good friend of hers. They travelled all over looking at dogs and nothing sparked Kim's attention. Do g's came close, but never enough for Kim to make the jump. Until one day she saw on Facebook a MEGA ADOPTION EVENT IN PHILADELPHIA. That event will change Kim and Michael's life. That event brought them Lacey. A 5-month-old hound puppy who was just the most adorable creature on the earth. She was not only sweet, but she was kind and learned so quickly how to be a great dog. What else can we say, have you met Lacey?!?! You'd know.
Where would you want to put roots down? Well for us, Pittsburgh was just that. A dream that became reality.
Just when our family seemed big enough, Sisu came into our lives. We met Sisu when she was a small pup that fit in our hands. she grew up with another owner (one of our good friends son). After watching Sisu and Belle during a family vacation, we grew to love this dog. we told our friend we would keep her if we could. Well then a few weeks later, they said they had to give her away due to special circumstances. So we jumped on it and told them we would love to take her and bring her into the family. The rest is history.
