Evan and Emilija met the way most couples do these days, on the internet! They immediately found common interests and the conversation flowed. They planned their first date to go see the bison at Evan's work (very cool, if anyone has not been, go!) and they hit it off from there. About a month into dating they decided to meet up at Acadia National Park, where Emilija was heading on a roadtrip with her friends and Evan was visiting his uncle Curtis nearby. They had a wonderful time hiking and drinking champagne in Bar Harbor and began to grow their love for one another. They continued to share their love for traveling, gardening, and having quiet nights. Evan and Emilija started talking about marriage fairly early into their relationship and knew that that was what they both wanted, and when it came time, Evan was exceptionally fortunate to be able to have his Great Grandmother Katherines engagement stone to work with. They decided to work together to design a ring that they both loved and could not be more pleased with the results. On the eve of Emilija's birthday, Evan picked up the ring from the jeweler and felt that it was too beautiful to sit in a box for months and proposed on the same night. It was a perfect warm May night, in Evan's backyard, with just the two of them when he popped the question. They are so excited to start their lives together that they do not want to wait to get married and have decided on a very short engagement, getting married in just three months! We are so incredibly thankful to our families and friends for being so supportive, positive, and encouraging throughout our entire relationship, we have learned to love from all of you and will cherish that gift for the rest of our lives!
