What happens if my test results don't come in before my flight departs?

Answer

Hawaii currently requires a covid test from a trusted partner to be taken within 72 hours (3 days) of departure, with a negative result, before traveling to the islands. In the rare but possible event that your result doesn't come back before your flight departs, we have heard it is best to reschedule or push back your flight UNTIL you receive your test results rather than departing without and possibly having to quarantine for 10days. ** From DELTA ** - "We understand that your plans may change, to continue simplifying travel, we have eliminated change and cancel fees for tickets originating in North America (excluding Basic Economy tickets purchased after March 30, 2021, which are non-refundable and non-changeable). By eliminating change fees, you have the flexibility to change the date, time or location of your trip without a fee. Sometimes, your new flight may cost more than your original flight. In this case, you would need to pay the difference in price."

What kind of weather should I expect?

Answer

The average temperature here is between 75˚-85˚ F. Summer, between April and November, is warmer and drier. Trade winds keep things comfortable year-round. It is generally drier on the western (leeward) side and wetter on the eastern (windward) side. It's warm in Hawaii, so pack your summer attire. You may want to bring a jacket or sweater for the evenings. Bring warmer clothes if you plan on visiting higher elevations like Haleakala National Park.

What are the best ways to get around the island?

Answer

Sheraton has a shuttle included from the hotel to Lahaina and also Kaanapali Beach. Uber and Lyft are also available. But to really experience all that Maui offers you should consider reserving a rental car in advance from the Kahului Airport or directly from Enterprise at the hotel. *Just a heads up, if you rent a car, there is a daily parking fee at the hotel. Kaanapali Beach and Whalers Village! Make sure to venture out from the hotel and walk to new places along the beach and throughout Whalers Village. There are plenty of other hotels and restaurants to visit along the way. Whalers Village, about a 10min walk from the hotel, offers shops and options for more eats. Check it out on our Things To Do page. Shops, restaurants, coffee, smoothies, and entertainment all within walking distance along the Ka'anapali beach path! Black Rock is also on our Things To Do page - Black Rock Beach offers cliff diving and the best snorkelling on the island. Right in front of our hotel!
