We met on October 9th 2021. I had seen him post in a Facebook group we were both in that he was looking for opportunities to help people and wanted to put up curtains, which happened to be a very oddly specific need that I had at that time. I recognized his name from our mutual friend so she brought him to my apartment to put up the curtains. I was only with them for about 20 minutes before I needed to leave while they worked on the curtains, but it turned out I left enough of an impression for Jordon to invite me to a party at his house the next evening, then on a group date with him the day after that. He said he was trying to find someone to set me up on a date with before I went to Florida (the day after that) but that he happened to need to fill in as my date haha. After that we hung out more often than I was used to seeing anyone at that time and regularly talked until 2am (sometimes even 4am or 6am). On November 11th 2021 he admitted that his feelings for me "were not totally platonic" after staying up talking until 5am the night before and first holding hands. We started going on official dates and on November 23rd 2021 he asked me to officially be his girlfriend. We first seriously discussed the idea of marriage sometime in fall 2022. We first looked in a ring store in January 2023 and booked the wedding venue in February 2023. In April 2023 we took engagement pictures, I picked out a wedding dress and my ring had come in the mail. Then we officially got engaged on May 28th 2023 (because why do things in order? haha.) Everyone had been anticipating it for awhile at that point, so I figured it would be challenging for him to plan a surprise proposal, but somehow he managed to pull it off without me suspecting anything that day! We were in the middle of playing a game called Love Letter with some friends when some other friends invited us to go for a "spontaneous" evening hike. Jordon acted like he was on the fence about going and wasn't sure where the hike was. When we got to the lookout point of the hike I heard the song Feel Like Rain by Motion City Soundtrack around the corner and said I needed to go make friends with whoever was listening to it. As I got closer, I realized that it was my brother and a friend of mine and they were taking pictures of me. Then I saw the spread where he'd laid out some flowers and signs with sweet words on them. Then Everywhere by Yellowcard started playing and Jordon proceeded to ask me to marry him. He hadn't realized that he was still wearing the blanket he was holding during the hike to hide the fact that there was a ring box in his pocket. I was very excited and pleased with the surprise, even as it lightly rained on us. And from there it's history :)
