🎶 Emmy and Jefty sitting in the tree, K…I….S…S 🎶 (Record Scratch)… I know you are all wondering how we ended up together, so let’s take a trip down memory lane… Neither of us expected the summer of 2015 to be the beginning of our journey. During that time, both of us were focusing on ourselves and our aspirations. However, that did not steer us away from becoming mentors and pouring into the youth in our churches. Our youth merged and utilized their love and passion for basketball to enjoy their summer break off from school. I became PWC’s Coach for the summer league, and when Emmy had availability in her schedule, she drove out to Brooklyn to support her youth on the team. As the bond between the youth grew, we never crossed paths. We heard about one another through the grapevines (you guys know who you are 😉). “You should really meet Jefty; you should really meet Emmy '', was all we heard for a while. Still not thinking much of it, Emmy encouraged her youth to invite the PWC’s summer league to Youth Rally for fellowship. The turnout was incredible! As the night was coming to an end, 2 of our youth were conversing by the entrance. Being the protector Emmy is, she headed over to introduce herself and protect her cub; I did the same. That night, we officially met each other and continued to grow friendships and appreciation for one another for years to come. Here we are, seven years later, redefining what love means and feels to us. The love, perseverance, and dedication it took to get to this place are beyond words. Our only prayer is that God’s love continues to manifest through our union and that we can pour out that love to our children and the generations to come. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you all for your support, prayers, and wisdom we have been showered with. Now, let the countdown to forever begin!
