Keeneland Race Track
Unfortunately, racing doesn't take place in May, but the course is open to the public everyday and is a beautiful place to stop by for a few minutes and walk around. The track also hosts horse training every morning 6 am - 10 am and is very cool to see.
Lexington Brewing and Distilling (Town Branch Distillery)
The most prominent distillery in the city and easiest one to access if staying downtown. Mitch prefers their beer to their bourbon, but their tour and experience is as good as any without a 30+ minute drive. Book tours / tastings sooner rather than later, as they tend to sell-out quickly.
Wallace Station Deli and Bakery
Mitch and Emily's favorite lunch spot and surrounded by some of the prettiest horse farms around Lexington.
Woodford Reserve
Closest big name distillery to Lexington and located on a beautiful scenic drive. Pairs well with a Wallace Station lunch. Book tours / tastings sooner rather than later, as they tend to sell-out quickly.
Buffalo Trace Distillery
Arguably the most decorated distillery in the world. Roughly a 45 minute drive from Lexington. Book tours / tastings sooner rather than later, as they tend to sell-out quickly.
James E. Pepper Distillery
A newer distillery located in a renovated warehouse in downtown Lexington that has quickly risen in popularity. Book tours / tastings sooner rather than later, as they tend to sell-out quickly.
Goodfellas Distillery and Pizzeria
Mitch and Emily's favorite Lexington pizzeria and located in a trendy restored warehouse district.
The Kentucky Castle
Castle turned boutique B&B - also offers dining services throughout the day to non-guests.
Fifth Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park
Centrally located walking strip offering several restaurants, bars, and typically live music. Also the home of the Lexington Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings.
Carson's Food & Drink
Good food and fun times near recommended downtown hotels.
The Arboretum, State Botanical Garden of KY

Churchill Downs
Home of the legendary Kentucky Derby. Located a little more than an hour from Lexington, its a bit of a trek from the wedding venue, but probably your best shot to bet on a live horse race and offers daily horse racing, as well as night racing on weekends in May.
