The Westin Riverwalk, San Antonio

All of our events will be happening at The Westin Riverwalk, we encourage you to book through our hotel block for very generous room block rates provided by the team at The Westin. Click "VIEW" or call the hotel and mention the Nordale/Derks wedding to be added to the room block! We have been guaranteed a certain number of rooms in our block and we have backup rooms if needed. Should you have any issues booking in our block, please reach out to the bride or MOB (contact info on the FAQ page) and she will help get you sorted! The cut-off date for our room block is Friday, March 27, 2026 at 5pm CT. Please book your rooms before this day to take advantage of our room block rate. Our rate will no longer be offered after March 27th.

San Antonio International Airport

We would highly recommend flying into San Antonio. Its a large airport that offers many direct flights. The next closest Airpot is Austin Bergstrom International Airport (about 1.5 hour drive each way) and we wouldn't suggest flying into DFW. That will buy you over 5 hours in the car each way.

For some guests, the Austin–Bergstrom International Airport may offer the most convenient direct flight options. Please note that travel from Austin to The Westin Riverwalk may take approximately 1.5–2 hours, particularly due to increased traffic associated with Fiesta events throughout the region.

Travel Note: Ceremony Timing

We will be celebrating the Nuptial Mass uniting Raleigh and Emmiline in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, beginning promptly at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 25th. To ensure a seamless and relaxed arrival, shuttles will depart from The Westin Riverwalk starting at 12:00 pm (please see the shuttle section below for details). We kindly encourage all guests to allow ample time to arrive at the hotel and board the shuttles, so that everyone may share fully in this joyous and sacred celebration. For those planning to arrive Friday evening, please indicate your arrival on your RSVP. The “What to Do” page offers suggestions for a leisurely evening in San Antonio. Our room block at The Westin Riverwalk is available for your convenience. Please note that early check-in on Saturday morning is generally not available, so we invite you to plan accordingly. We are so grateful for your presence and look forward to celebrating this very special day with you.

Ride Share or Car Service Highly Encouraged!

For guests traveling from out of town, we recommend using rideshare or car services during the wedding weekend rather than renting a car. Our celebration coincides with Fiesta in San Antonio, a vibrant citywide festival that brings lively events (and increased traffic) throughout the area. Local rideshare and car service drivers are the most familiar with current road closures and alternate routes, making them the easiest and most reliable way to navigate the city. All wedding weekend events will be held at The Westin Riverwalk, with the exception of the ceremony. Transportation to and from the ceremony will be provided for all guests. Shuttles will depart from The Westin Riverwalk and will be available to all guests, regardless of where they are staying. The River Walk area is exceptionally walkable, with many of the city’s restaurants, bars, and attractions located just steps from the hotel. You may even find it faster to explore the area on foot than by car. For guests who prefer to rent a vehicle, overnight valet parking at The Westin Riverwalk is available for $80 per night. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer discounted parking for guests.

Shuttle

Shuttles from The Westin Riverwalk to and from the ceremony

For your convenience, shuttle transportation will be provided to and from the ceremony, departing from The Westin Riverwalk. All guests are welcome to use this service, regardless of where you are staying. As our wedding weekend coincides with Fiesta in San Antonio, the city will be lively and traffic may be heavier than usual. To make the day as smooth and stress-free as possible, we strongly encourage guests to take advantage of the provided shuttles. Guests may begin gathering in the lobby of The Westin at 12:00 PM to board. Our ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 PM, and transportation timing has been arranged with festival traffic in mind. Our transportation vendor is closely monitoring Fiesta events, road closures and any other traffic information so ensure shuttles run smoothly. We kindly recommend planning to take an earlier shuttle than you might expect to need. If many guests wait until the last departure window, there may not be enough time to transport everyone before the ceremony begins. Please note that reserved parking is not available at the church, so the shuttle will be the easiest option for most guests. Following the ceremony, shuttles will bring guests back to The Westin Riverwalk so all guests arrive in time for cocktail hour.
