The Nelson Art Museum is home to many beautiful art galleries as well as a sculpture park surrounding the building. Admission to the museum is free and a great place to spend a couple of hours admiring art, in the cafe or walking the outdoor paths in the sculpture garden.
The WWI memorial is one of the most iconic sites in Kansas City and offers one of the best views of the KC skyline- especially at night. Visiting the memorial is free, and there is a museum below that offers tickets from $18-23.
Earl, as well as the many citizens of Kansas City, worship Joes BBQ. There are now many locations of Joe's KC BBQ throughout the area, but the original location had its humble start in gas station on 47th street. Plan accordingly, because the line is almost always out the door!
One of the best and most popular coffee shops and roasters in the area. Messenger is located in downtown Kansas City, walking distance from the Sprint Center and Power&Light District. Their building is a three-story former car showroom with a rooftop patio so there is always room to sit.
There are several locations of Blade&Timber in the area but the Power&Light location is by far the best. Come and throw axes, or just watch and enjoy food from their delicious menu!
The plaza offers many stores, restaurants and coffee shops. Parking is free and the plaza always seems like the place to be on a nice day.
