We're getting married!

Dom and Emmie's story starts when they met at the beginning of the 2014 semester at Wilkes University. As fate would have it, the football team was tasked with helping students move into their new digs. That day Emmie’s dad, Marly, was helping move her in and Dom, who was living down the hall gave Marly a hand with the couch. This was the first time they met and Emmie’s curly hair caught Dom’s eye. Emmie and Dom would bump into each other from time to time at the elevator, but they didn’t ever speak. It wasn’t until the spring semester that Dom and Emmie started getting to know each other when their friend groups began hanging out. Dom liked Emmie and started visiting her at her work study in the SUB, and after they would grab lunch together. Dom would blame it on not having any dining dollars left, but he just wanted to spend more time with her. Emmie worked evenings and would always end up having to do late-night homework sessions. Even though Dom had early morning lifts for football, he would stay up with Emmie while she worked on her graphics projects. On an evening when Emmie and Dom were supposed to meet up she wasn’t feeling well. Dom ran out and made her a care package with all his favorite cold remedies and a handwritten note. Those notes would later become Emmie’s favorite keepsakes. Slowly feelings started to grow, but the end of the school year was here. Emmie and Dom parted ways with a single kiss and best wishes for one another that summer. A few weeks into summer vacation, Dom couldn’t wait to see Emmie again and asked her on their first date, a trip to Dorney Park. Even though Emmie was afraid of roller coasters she went on each one with Dom. From then on texts turned into phone calls and phone calls turned into day visits. Finally, Dom visited Emmie at Lake Ontario where he officially met her parents and asked her to be his girlfriend sitting on the boat looking over the pond. But love isn’t without its tests. Shortly after college Dom and Emmie moved down to West Chester, PA where they both established careers but Dom got an exciting offer to work in Manhattan. Emmie, rooted in West Chester, decided to stay while Dom moved to Brooklyn. Weekend visits, FaceTime calls, and tearful goodbyes at the train station platform became regular. Yet, this very challenge strengthened their bond and if they could get through this, they could get through anything. In 2020, the world stopped, but it allowed Dom to come back to West Chester and work from home. That September, Dom popped the question back at Lake Ontario while he and Emmie were out for a stroll on the beach. Now residing in West Bradford with their three kitties (Paisley, Tilly, and Oliver), Emmie and Dom enjoy beach trips to OCNJ, finding what’s new in West Chester, movie Sundays with friends, and getting as many tickets to see Zach Bryan as possible. Much has changed in their lives, but one thing has always remained their love, trust, and faith in one another.
