Emmie headed to brunch with friends. As she waited for everyone to arrive she learned that Lauren was bringing a friend who was visiting. Soon, Emmie spotted Ryan - a smiling, bearded, lumberjack man walking in the door. His plaid shirt & cowboy boots were enough to make him stand out in any crowd, but the twang in his voice & big blue eyes gave Em a real life "you had me at hello" moment. Brunch was followed by fun around the city with best crew. Emmie & Ryan had a ton to talk about, given that Emmie had been planning to move to DC. When the day ended the two had a feeling it wouldn't be the last time they hung out. Months later, after social media friendship, group ski trips, long phone calls, visits to DC & NYC, & more, Emmie landed a job in DC and was making the move official - soon after Em & Ry were official too! Ryan & Emmie's life in DC has been full of adventure & joy.  They love exploring the different neighborhoods of DC, camping & hiking through the Shenandoah & relaxing by the water at the DC Wharf. They jump at any chance they get to make music together & perform around town. When they aren't on stage you'll find them catching a movie, training for a Tough Mudder or playing in the many DC parks with Hudson - Ryan's adorable son. 3 years after meeting, Ryan wanted to ask the question! He was nervous, but with a calm & collected voice suggested that he & Emmie go to dinner at the Wharf - their favorite spot. Once by the water, Ryan suggested the two go walk on the dock to kill time. Emmie, was starting to think something was up, but gladly agreed. When out on the dock, Ryan stopped dead in his tracks, looked around & said "well this spot is perfect". He got down on one knee & popped the question & after many tears, pictures & calls the two went out for the best night of celebration with loved ones! Emmie, Ryan & Hudson are thrilled to start this next chapter together & thank you for being part of this special time!
