From Reid: It was a Wednesday morning, the cafeteria food was good that day. I was going to my first ever Cal Lu class and as I walked into class, a little before 8, because I didn’t want to be too early to seem like a try hard, I noticed a wondrous woman sitting on the left side of the classroom. I proceeded to sit on the back right, that way she wouldn’t be able to see me looking at her. She was dressed in athletic attire and that piqued my interest even more. I later found out she was on the volleyball team but also had a boyfriend so I went to as many volleyball games as possible. She was number 21 so I automatically knew we would get along and we eventually became acquaintances in class and then we became Facebook friends and I started sliding into her DMs with some mild flirting. And then it took me 7 years to convince her to finally go on a date with me.
In the spring of 2017 we reconnected and chatted for a couple of months and I was recently single. I did not want to miss out on my chance so I asked her if she wanted to see Wonder Woman which I knew she would love. Turns out, she also really wanted to see it, so we set a date for June 11th, a Sunday. I was extremely nervous and had just played a baseball game that day so I rushed home to take a shower and sped to Ventura. I wanted to make it as easy of a first date as possible because I was afraid she was going to cancel on me, again. Turns out, she almost did (because SHE was so nervous), but luckily she was ready to go when I picked her up and went to downtown Ventura to watch Wonder Woman. We had such a great time together, we had multiple dates within the next week. From that moment on, we were inseparable.
